Radio Silence

Mr. Alice is on vacation from work this week. His birthday is Friday, but since he is going to be home, Sage and I gave him his gift when he got home from work yesterday.

Civilization V.

Mr. Alice’s desktop is the same age Sage is and won’t run anything released in the last few years, so he must use my laptop to play his new game. This is the first time I have seen the laptop since we gave him the game. ;)

I don’t expect to be posting/commenting much until a week from Monday.

In other news, Sage passed her level one swim test, so it’s off to level two on Monday!

Also on Friday, she went to Nature Nook: Squirmy Worms, where they petted real live worms, raced them (Sage’s won), learned about them (did you know, mom, that they only have that thick solid band around them when it’s wet enough to mate?), and eventually released them to the wild.

I finished Sagan’s book, which was moderately entertaining, and started to read The Story of Art, which I’m loving so far.

  1. Happy birthday to Mr Alice, and congratulations to Sage!

Hope you all have a good week.

  2. Happy Birthday, Mr. Alice! Go, Sage! Worms are fun;-)) Did not know that about mating worms– learn something everyday…thanks!

Radio silence… that made me smile:-) No problem– we understand! Hope you get your computer back soon….

You just finished “Demon Haunted World”? Loved that one (though Pale Blue Dot is still my favorite Sagan)…. nothing like some good Carl Sagan to make you want to stand up and cheer. “The Story of Art” sounds *fascinating*– update a bit on that from time to time… when you have time, of course!

  3. happy birthday!
